Hair Spikes in Bronze!
**This listing is for a single hair spike and retainer bar**
Once upon a merry while ago at college, I was a little punk white kid with dreadlocs, sitting in the workshop thinking "hey, wouldn't it be cool if i could have metal spikes on the ends of these?". At the time I couldn't think of a way to attatch them to the ends short of sewing them on and, while that totally would work, I doubt my college tutors would feel they were a viable design 😂 so the idea was shelved... not considering I could just do it on my own outside of college. Anyway, fast forward six years, I no longer have locs, but I do frequently wear my hair in braids. One Friday I'm sitting looking at the end of my braid and the idea hit me like a shock! And thus, my hair spikes were born 🥰
I craft these from broken cymbals that are too far past repairing entirely by hand, so they are tough as nails and lighter than you might expect
They are Super simple to use - just braid your hair and tie it, slide the spike over the hair so the holes are up past the hair tie, slide the bar through both holes making sure to also go through the middle of the braid, and then screw the retainer back on the bar. Done!
